During my internship at Bombardier Recreational Products, I worked within the Predictive Engineering team, contributing to simulation-driven development and vehicle testing across multiple recreational platforms.
My focus was on multibody dynamics, data analysis, and validation of simulation models using physical test data.
Snowmobile Data Analysis & Duty Cycle Optimization
Project Summary: Processed and analyzed large volumes of snowmobile test data to develop representative duty cycles and create accelerated cycles while retaining original usage patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processed raw vehicle test data using nCode to clean, organize, and standardize datasets.
- Developed representative duty cycles and optimized them using Altair HyperStudy.
- Coordinated data analysis with the predictive engineering team to validate simulation models.
Suspension Modeling & Bump Steer Optimization
Project Summary: Refined multibody suspension models for a three-wheeled vehicle platform to optimize bump steer characteristics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edited and updated Altair MotionView suspension models.
- Performed bump steer optimization using HyperStudy.
- Communicated findings to the team to inform design adjustments.
Vehicle Testing & Instrumentation Support
Project Summary: Assisted on-site testing of four-wheeler vehicles, focusing on instrumentation and data validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisted with instrumentation setup.
- Collected and ensure valid test data.
- Supported engineers in ensuring proper operation of test vehicles.
Vibration & Frequency Analysis for Accessories
Project Summary: Analyzed vibration and frequency behavior of snowmobile accessories to support engineering specifications.
